USGBC, on behalf of its Board of Directors and community of members and volunteers, is proud to release its 2024–2026 Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan begins a new era for USGBC and green building. While building on the incredible legacy of our first 30 years, it positions us to evolve beyond past successes to redefine leadership within our industry and address the urgent challenges and opportunities in the years ahead.

Key strategies described in the Strategic Plan include

Rapidly decarbonizing the built environment in line with international targets.
Centering resilience, human health and social equity outcomes within communities.
Connecting USGBC programs to critical market drivers and systems transformation initiatives.
Increasing access to the benefits of green building for underresourced communities and individuals.
Developing the next generation of green building leaders and building inclusive pathways into our global community.
Advocating for bold public policy and governmental leadership.

Implementing these strategies will enable USGBC to successfully evolve its programs and operations, scale its mission-aligned impact, grow the green building movement, and enhance the value that we provide to members and stakeholders around the world.

The Strategic Plan was developed in collaboration with the USGBC Board of Directors, with input from USGBC staff, members, volunteers and stakeholders.
